Frequently asked questions

Can I work during my studies?

On campus: 20 hrs/week. Off campus: through CPT internships during your studies, then OPT after graduation.

Which scholarships can I aim for?

University merit scholarships, need-based aid at some institutions and assistantships at master’s level. Application strategy makes all the difference.

Is the SAT mandatory?

More and more universities are test-optional: we target institutions based on your profile and your testing budget.

Can I stay in the United States after graduation?

OPT gives you 12 months of work (36 for STEM), then the H-1B visa through an employer. The path exists, but it is less certain than in Canada.

Which cities should I favor?

The big metropolitan areas are expensive: state universities in the Midwest or the South offer excellent value for money and a true American campus experience.
