Admission requirements

  • Baccalaureate and translated transcripts
  • Application in English: nearly all international programs are taught in English
  • IELTS/TOEFL or the university’s own internal language test
  • Entrance exam (written and oral) for medicine and certain fields
  • For the scholarship: Stipendium Hungaricum application due by mid-January

The student visa (type D) requires your admission, proof of funds and accommodation. Processing: 3 to 5 weeks. Stipendium scholarship holders benefit from a simplified track.

What is the Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship?

A Hungarian state scholarship: tuition covered, housing and a monthly allowance. Tunisia has an official annual quota; applications are submitted in January for the September intake.

Do I need to speak Hungarian?

No: the international programs are taught in English. You pick up Hungarian on the spot for daily life.

Can I study medicine there?

Yes: Semmelweis, Debrecen, Szeged and Pécs teach in English, with an entrance exam. The degrees are recognized across the EU.

Can I work during my studies?
